today was a good day. variety of reasons really.
in the morning i made yet another long trek deep into the eastern lands of singapore in pursuit of revision. to fendi's house, with nicole, nickers and val. but the first 1 hour was aimless yet enjoyable.
of course there were inspired spurts of mugging amongst the constant chatter and joking. there was also pizza. nice pizza, and hot dogs. yum. and obviously, fulltiltpoker.com which by the way i am finally doing decent in.
i'm up to 128k. the exact spot i was 4 months ago before joshua killed it all. feels good to be back ;)
so we managed to finish revising all the notes for EP and i'm feeling a little better about it. fen was kind enough to photocopy his notes for coaching so i can mug properly and effectively.
cabbed back to dress up for pappy's 70th b'day.
donned the zara outfit complete with experimental hair concoctions and heavy dosage of polo blue perfume. manly i know :)
the gathering was wonderful as expected. the it really hit me how blessed we all are to have such a wonderful person like grandpa in our lives. there were speeches throughout the night. photo montages. heartfelt wishes and laugher. and of course, soya sauce.
what an honour for the 3 cousins to be at the VIP table with grumps, gramps and the rest of khoo family "royalty"
there were aknowledgements to us in almost all the speeches and it almost felt like a scene out of a mafia movie where the don would pass on the empire to the grandchildren to run. cool.
grandpa ended his speech with everyone singing a resounding version of "To God Be The Glory" which brought me to tears.
everything was just beautiful in that instant.
the evening progressed splendidly with drinks and dancing. 2 glasses of brandy for me will do it. a little samba and a little rock and roll and i was set.
grandpa's an awesome individual and i wish him all the best and a long happy life. the father figure in my life has never looked better.
to my grandfather! The greatest of the lot :)
spread the lovin'
