i've poured my heart and soul into my dream
a fools ambition it may seem
but charged by God i know i was
to help fight for a worthy cause

the nights are cold and days are long
yet no one has yet heard my song
as time trudges on i begin to doubt
what my dreams were all about

my purest intentions have now been blurred
demons of rejection begin to stir
am i in it for fame and glory
or just to tell a love story

my doors are closing one by one
and soon i fear there will be none
to give me that look, that single chance
to show my stuff and sing and dance

but the light is fading into the night
and there isn't much hope in sight
but my fight's not over it cannot be
at least i hope its not, we'll wait and see

After all I know it was he
who came in my sleep to inspire me
but i know to them a fool i must seem
after all it's just a dream...
