today was a good day in the life of the newly baptised spartan :)

after dreams of one day conquering the world and eternal glory i was rudely awoken by my mom's yells that we were going to be late for church. sigh.

gobbled down breakfast and rushed to get dressed and ready for mass. dropped sunshine off at his place then zipped off to church.

it was really nice being back in church again after a while away. spiritually refreshing would be the phrase i guess. sermon was moving and the choir churned out a tear jerking rendition of amazing grace. mom passed her usual sunday advice during the drive back, recalling the times we shared with dad and the love that the world so desperately needs right now. i wish i could just make everything better but i know i can't...at once.

before i knew it i was down at the occ range chatting up my former coach greg mcintosh. initially it was awkward talking to him but there wasnt a tinge of resentment or bitterness in his voice, just the same old gentle, funny and sincere greggy. refreshing to say the least. he got back to his work with the promise that i would get him out for a game and a feed soon.

i was still hurtin from fridays workout when i hit the first tee. actually played some very good golf today. hit some absolutely amazing golf shots and putted very well. obviously you dont make all good putts you hit (esp at OCC) so i chopped a 77 out of it (par 73 so 4 over) actually very very pleased with the game in general.

obviously flaws and minor things were picked up as i ran through my round with the coach but he's pleased as is yu khing and obviously myself. its all coming together, slower than i initially anticipated but its really coming together nicely and i'm stoked for the coming tourneys.

as i unwind back in my comfy sty back at champions way i cant help but think what horrors await the unsuspecting children of woodgrove primary tomorrow morning when our coaching practicum goes global. erm national...erm...zonal...erm, across the blumin street.

I AM SPARTAN. I FEAR NOTHING!
